Protection of Personal Data
This Personal Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) applies whenever Bayu Techventure Sdn Bhd (“Company”) collect and process your personal data.
The Company will collect and process your personal information (“Personal Data”) in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, other related legislation, and the Company’s own internal policy.
The Company collects your Personal Data from:
- You;
- Bayu Techventure, including from Dashapp mobile applications;
- Operators of registers or databases available to the carpark / insurance industry;
- Government departments, agencies or authorities;
- Any party who has, does or will provide products or services to you and whom you have granted consent for him to disclose your personal data to us;
- Insurance intermediaries, reinsurers, third party administrators and/or service providers;
- Our commercial partners; and/or
- Related persons or organisations where such information would be essential for purposes stated herein.
The Company also collects and processes your sensitive Personal Data. By signifying your consent, you give the Company your explicit consent to process your sensitive Personal Data such as your mental or physical health and condition, beliefs and the commission or alleged commission by you of any offence for the purposes described in this Notice or as required by law.
Processing of Personal Data
The Personal Data that we collect and process may include but is not limited to the following:
- Your identity (including your name, date of birth, age, National Registration Identification Card / passport details, gender and photograph);
- Your contact information (including your telephone numbers, e-mail and mailing addresses);
- Your demographic information (including your zip / postal code, region, hometown);
- Information collected pursuant to your use of Dashapp mobile application (including location data, your interaction with Dashapp’s mobile application (such as system log));
- Your vehicle’s information (including number plate and vehicle model);
- Entry and exit data from carpark, payment made, duration stayed at the last car park
- Your family’s information (including name, National Registration Identification Card / passport details, address, telephone number, emails and other contact details); and/or
- Any other Personal Data that is required for purposes provided herein.
Failure to supply information
You may choose whether or not to provide your Personal Data to the Company. If you choose not to do so, the Company may be unable to provide you with the services and/or products requested or otherwise. The Company is not liable for damages for services not rendered and/or products not delivered. Hence, it is obligatory for you to provide the Company with your Personal Data for services and/or products provided by the Company.
Purpose of collecting and processing your Personal Data
Your Personal Data will be collected and processed by the Company for the following purposes:
- To better provide our 24-hour call centre the ability to provide emergency services such as accident assist and stolen vehicle recovery;
- To facilitate the offering and provision of other services and/or products such as multi modal journey planner and insurance;
- To pool risks profiles for potential insurers for the purpose of offering and/or providing and/or recommending any insurance products;
- For detection and prevention of criminal activity or fraud;
- To manage and service the Company’s relationship with you and to provide you with better customer service including to respond to your emails, questions, comments, requests and complaints;
- To conduct marketing and promotional activities;
- To facilitate the Company’s internal administration such as auditing and maintaining database records;
- To facilitate the Company’s business continuity management and procedures;
- To perform internal operations necessary to provide our services and/or products, including to troubleshoot software bugs and operational problems;
- For research, testing, statistical studies and/or data analysis;
- For product development and to improve our services and/or products;
- To investigate or address claims or disputes relating to use of our services and/or products; and/or
- For all other purposes that is incidental, ancillary and/or in furtherance to the above.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
The Company may share your Personal Data with the following parties (including those within and outside Malaysia):
- The Company’s group of companies, and associated, affiliated and related companies;
- Third party service providers and any other contractors or sub-contractors appointed by the Company as required or as the Company may determine to be necessary or appropriate;
- Medical professionals;
- The police;
- Government and/or regulatory authorities;
- Tow truck service providers;
- Insurers, insurance agency, underwriters, reinsurers;
- Call centres to whom the Company outsources certain business operations;
- Commercial partners of the Company;
- Operators of registers or databases available to the automotive and insurance industry;
- Professional service providers working for or on behalf of the Company;
- Persons conducting actuarial or research studies;
- Data analytics providers;
- Consultants;
- External data collectors;
- External debt collector;
- Investigators;
- Advertisers and/or marketing partners; and
- Any person during or in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company (if any).
Your right of access to your Personal Data
You have the right to request in writing, access to and correction of your Personal Data held by the Company. You may make enquiries or complaints in respect of your Personal Data by contacting our customer service department through the Company’s email: [email protected]. You may also request in writing for the Company to cease processing your Personal Data including for marketing purposes.
Information About Another Person
When you give the Company information about another person, you confirm that they have appointed you to act for them, and have consented to the Company processing their personal data in accordance with this Notice.
The Company reserves the right to update and amend this Notice from time to time. The Company will notify you of any amendments to the Notice via announcement on the Company’s website or via other means we deemed appropriate. If the Company amends this Notice, all Personal Data will be collected and processed by the Company in accordance with the amended Notice.
